About Jennifer

The Barnstormer and the Lady was first published in 2010 by Jennifer’s mother, Mary Lynn Oliver, daughter of Walter and Olive Ann Beech. This edition was successfully sold out and is out of print. Since then, many significant events, milestones and commemorations saluting this amazing couple have occurred. Jennifer felt it was her mission to bring this book back to life, update it and share it with a whole new generation of readers who know very little about this story. In 2025, the book’s 15th anniversary, Jennifer relaunched her new edition, and it has been tremendously well received.

Their Story

Mary Lynn Oliver, daughter of Walter and Olive Ann Beech, was inspired to write The Barnstormer and the Lady to share the remarkable story of her parents. While countless books had been written about Beechcraft and its legendary airplanes, little had been told about the man and woman behind them. Mary Lynn wanted to capture their personalities, their extraordinary partnership, and the strength of character that helped them overcome adversity and build one of America's great aviation companies. Above all, she wanted to preserve their personal story and legacy for future generations.
